In Memory

Danny Demmer

Daniel Joseph Demmer

Daniel Joseph Demmer, beloved by all who knew him, went to his heavenly home on April 13, 2015.

Danny was born in Tyler on Aug. 23, 1952. Graduating from Robert E Lee, he received his business degree from U.T. Arlington in 1975.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Nadine Mullins Demmer and Joe Demmer. He is survived by his precious wife, Ann; his sister and brother-in-law, Debbie and Davis Grant; his nephew, Dave Grant; his niece, Jenny Grant Lester, her husband, Paul Lester, and great-niece, Lilly Jane Lester.

Dan grew up on his family's Camp Tejas property at old Lake Tyler with a true love of the outdoors and respect for nature. Hunting and fishing with a few close friends were some of his happiest times.

With his dad as his instructor, Dan got his pilot's license and flying became another highlight of his life.

Living in Greece, he worked in the oil industry in Egypt, Saudi Arabia and other countries in the Middle East. Returning to the U.S. in 1981, Dan continued in Colorado, Wyoming and California, where he met his true love, Ann, before returning to Texas in 2000.

Ann was the best thing that ever happened to him. Her joyfulness was the perfect balance to his melancholy personality. She was the love of his life and they were truly soul mates.

He was the sweetest, most gentle and kind hearted soul I've ever known. What a blessing to have Danny Demmer for my baby brother. This deepest pain of my life is bearable only because I know he finally has peace, is with Jesus, and is back in the arms of our adored Honeymom.

As per Dan's wishes, there is no service, only a private family memorial.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Texas Wildlife Association, 660 Thousand Oaks Drive, San Antonio, 78218.

I remember Danny as a quiet soul who never had a bad word to say about anyone. We weren't close friends, but I always knew that if need, I could call on him and he would always be there, never asking more of anyone than he would ask of himself. We lost a good soul in Danny and I hope he is with the Father as we remember him.

Danny was my special friend for many years and enjoyed the times we shared stories from Hubbard to Robert E Lee! We will all miss him always! Blessings to his family, always, Jena

Like Dusty I did not know Danny well. But I remember him. I can see him coming down the sidewalk. We always smiled or nodded - silently - but consistently. All peace to his family. We have all lost a dear one.
